Michael Jackson
Didjeribone, vocal effects
A bit of stuff about me:
"Most of my time is spent playing and teaching didjeridu and
didjeribone, bushwalking and explorations looking for Aboriginal
rock art in the Blue Mountains.
The explorations for rock art are in connection to a project being
supported by the Australian Museum. Most of my explorations have
been in the southwestern Blue Labyrinth and have uncovered over
250 sites. The bush project means I need to be able to walk, map
read, and have enough faith to go off track into rough country and
get back again.
Part of the rock art project has been to show one of the local Gundungarra
elders Bill Hardie some of the sites as it is his people's cultural
heritage. One of my exciting recent finds has been a cave drawing
in charcoal of a horse. This means it is a post contact site within
the last 220 years
I work playing music and teaching and for the last
5 years I have toured once a year to Europe for approximately 2
months each year. Next year I will be heading to the US to play.
I am working on new music with Didjeridu Dingo as well as a solo
project.
Michael Jackson has 2 CD's of didjeridu music available:
